Advent can often feel like a countdown to Christmas and a hustle of preparation for the holidays, when in fact the liturgical season is all about waiting—not for a short-lived celebration, but for a person.
One way our parish is seeking to prepare well for Christ’s Nativity is with Waiting Well, a special program from Ascension with Fr. Mike Schmitz, which features daily reflections, prayer, and opportunities for community.
This Advent, we can learn to wait well together as a parish. Sign up for Waiting Well to reflect, pray, and share in small groups with other parishioners in the Upper Room each Tuesday of Advent. Each session will begin with a short reflection from a GSCC staff member before breaking into small groups for discussion. Each participant will receive a Waiting Well prayer journal, written by Fr. Mike Schmitz, filled with beautiful art and meaningful meditations to guide your Advent journey.
