Thursday Morning Scripture Study - The History of Catholic Worship

Join us for our next series, History of Worship, presented by Jim McGill.

In this course, we will examine the history of worship in the Catholic Church from apostolic times until today. The emphasis will be on:

• the theology of liturgy - how it informs and strengthens the life of faith
• the elements of liturgy - architecture, music, sacred texts and objects, rubrics, etc.

We will look principally at the Mass, but other sacraments as well. We will also discuss the perspective of the liturgy from the documents of Vatican II and its impact on how the liturgy is celebrated today.
